Our Team
Mike & Shelly Webb
Mike and Shelly Webb began hosting wine tastings in the early 2000’s. These wine tastings included many fine wines from around the country as well as the world. Throughout the hosting there had been talk about growing grapes and producing their own brand of wines. That dream finally became a reality in April of 2022 when the first batches of Hymn and Herd Wine was bottled in the basement of the Patronville Church. Shelly is the 6th generation of the Boyd farm which includes the land Shelly’s grandparents or as she called them Mammaw and Pappaw deeded for the church (now our winery) to be built. Mike and Shelly have ensured a 7th generation of the family with their three sons (Mac, Malin and Manning.) Mac and his wife Jennah now have ensured the 8th generation with the birth of their son Boyd.
Mac & Jennah Webb
Mac Webb has been making wine for over a third of his life. Starting in 2009 while still in high school, he began experimenting with Welch’s Grape Juice, yeast and a balloon. Worried about getting caught, he forced a friend to keep the experiment in his closet until it smelled so bad it had to be thrown out. Experimentation continued until 2012 when Mac purchased two wine making kits, one for himself and one for Mike for Christmas. The flavors and quantities grew each year. The culmination was Mac and Jennah making their own wine for their wedding reception followed by a honeymoon to Napa/Sonoma Wine Country. The goal was to always open a winery and produce wines using the same recipes that have been perfected for over a decade. Mac and Jennah have even added a cellar hand to the family, Boyd is the namesake of the family that’s farmed the ground for over a century.
